Novelists at Rebellion, Manchester 241017
So a mate of mine shared a link on his Facebook profile a few months ago and as I am always on the look out for new music I checked it out.
The band in question was ‘Novelists’ and the Album ‘Souvenirs’ instantly had me hooked. This Metalcore band from France had something about them, I couldn’t put my finger on what it was, and to be truthful I still can’t tell you.
I found out that they were playing at Rebellion in Manchester on a Tuesday night, so I made the journey to see them, what surprised me the most was that they weren’t even headlining. I don’t know if thats because they’re not very well know over in the UK or because I’d been so obsessed with this stunning album, that I’d built them up so much in my head I was expecting a queue 20 miles long
On arrival, there were no people outside and the bands name was written in chalk on a board outside, Chalk!?
It’s not like your advertising the daily news, it’s NOVELISTS!!!
THIS BAND SHOULD AND WILL BE MASSIVE!
They performed a few songs off the new album ‘Noir’ Which is a bit more commercial ready for the mass audience and rightly so, everyone should give both albums a listen.
I would HIGHLY recommend that ANYONE go and see this band.
The energy, the stage presence, the noise, the skill.
The pits they created were mental!
Hands down my favourite Band this year, from the stunningly beautiful intros and breakdowns, through to the brutal yet meaningful vocals, these lads deliver everything you could want from a Metalcore band.
